Free Infection Prevention and Control Training Course for Ambulatory Surgery Centers in Pennsylvania

The Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) is delivering a free infection prevention and control (IPC) course funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Health. Licensed ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) are eligible to enroll and one staff member per facility may participate.

The live virtual training course addresses IPC challenges and best practices in the ASC setting and includes Pennsylvania-specific infection control plan components and education.

Pennsylvania ASC IPC Training Course

Cohort 1: September 9th, 16th, 23rd, 2025
Cohort 2: October 7th, 14th, 28th, 2025
Cohort 3: November 6th, 13th, 20th, 2025

  • Three days of live, virtual instruction by CIC-certified infection preventionists

  • Topics include conducting IPC risk assessments, developing an effective infection prevention program, accrediting and regulatory compliance, and IPC best practices in the ambulatory setting

  • Interactive group activities, Q&A sessions, and shared learning opportunities

  • Bonus, on-demand learning covers Pennsylvania-specific infection control plan components, education, and reporting requirements

  • Certificate of completion and [XX] continuing education (CE) credits*, [XX] nursing contact hours, and 10 infection prevention units (IPUs) awarded upon successful completion of the course

  • One year of membership with APIC provided after attendance of the 3-day live virtual course
